Trust the process. These words were spoken repeatedly during my first residency at grad school. They continued to be emphasized throughout my courses, internship, research study, and thesis writing. “Trust the process” became a mantra that has been incorporated into my everyday life. It would be my privilege to accompany you on your therapeutic journey, guiding you, holding a safe space where together, we can trust the process.
In the fall of 2018, I became the first ever recipient of the American Art Therapy Association’s Irene Rosner David Medical Art Therapy Scholarship. I graduated the following spring from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a master’s degree in Art Therapy with a Counseling emphasis. I specialize in medical art therapy, assisting those (self, loved one, or caregivers) impacted by such things as cancer or chronic illness, and the grief, loss, depression, and anxiety that can accompany a life-changing medical diagnosis.
I believe in a positive, client-centered approach to therapy, finding tools and techniques that are suited to you as an individual. Through art and/or talk therapy, I will foster the healing process by providing a safe, judgement-free space for you to explore, express, and grow.
When words are not enough to express the complex emotions of a health journey, art can provide a powerful voice. I use art therapy to help individuals process the anxiety, grief, and trauma associated with illness in a safe, non-verbal way, fostering healing and a renewed sense of control.
Living with a chronic condition involves not just physical pain, but also profound emotional and mental exhaustion. I provide a supportive space to navigate the grief of lost abilities, manage the uncertainty of your health, and rebuild a meaningful life that honors both your limitations and your strengths.
A cancer diagnosis can turn your world upside down, bringing a flood of fear, anger, and isolation. I offer compassionate support to help you and your loved ones process this journey, manage the overwhelming stress, and find resilience and meaning from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
The role of a caregiver is one of profound love, but it can also be depleting and isolating. I provide a dedicated space for caregivers to process their complex emotions, manage stress and burnout, and rediscover their own identity and well-being while supporting a loved one.
